The Five Wineries of Menorca: A Complete Wine Guide

14 Sep 2026 · 2 min de lectura

Menorca isn’t the first island that comes to mind when talking about Spanish wine, but it has five wineries with real character of their own. You’ll find their selection, alongside a selection of mainland wines, at our shops. Here’s the guide to what to expect from each one.

Binifadet

Probably the best-known Menorcan winery outside the island. Located near Sant Lluís, it favours fresh, approachable wines — young reds, fruity whites and a rosé that has become a summer classic on the island. A good entry point if this is your first Menorcan wine.

Torralba

A family-run winery with a more traditional outlook, focused on Mediterranean varieties worked slowly and carefully. Its reds tend to have more body and structure, made to pair with hearty dishes like a caldereta or a roast.

Sa Forana

One of the island’s smallest wineries, with careful, limited production. Sa Forana works close to organic farming principles and makes wines with genuine character, far from commercial formulas — ideal for anyone looking for something different in every glass.

Binitord

Another small-scale winery that combines native varieties with more common Mediterranean ones. Its wines tend toward a balanced profile — neither too powerful nor too light — versatile for everyday drinking.

Santa Catalina

Closing the list is a winery with a more classic identity within the Menorcan scene, making wines meant for everyday island consumption rather than export — which makes them a genuine discovery for anyone visiting Menorca.

How to choose depending on the occasion

  • Summer aperitif — a Binifadet white or rosé, fresh and easy to drink
  • A meal with local produce — a Torralba or Binitord red, with enough body for cured cheese or sobrasada
  • Discovering something different — Sa Forana or Santa Catalina, more limited productions with more personality
  • A gift with a story — any of the five, ideally paired with other products in a gourmet basket

Where to buy them
